Native Specific

      • DOCUMENTATION with your MITW application:
        • A photocopy of your Michigan Driver’s License or State-issued Michigan ID card AND
        • A photocopy of your Tribal ID.
      • TRIBAL EDUCATION OFFICE SECTION: Send the MITW application (and attached documentation) to your Tribal Enrollment Department for certification.
      • MAKE SURE TO FOLLOW UP WITH YOUR TRIBE: to ensure your application is complete and handed into the Michigan Department of Civil Rights. 
      • Waivers are for any credit, any degree track, certificate, and/or program. There is no limit on how many times you use.
      • There is no deadline, however, you must use the waiver in the semester your enrolled.

  • The student fills the Application sends to Tribal Education Office.
  • Then the Tribal Education Office fills out their portion and sends the application to the Michigan Department of Civil Rights
  • Michigan Department sends a verification letter to me in the KBOCC Financial Aid Office with a Verification Email of you, the Student, then I process and award.

  • November 11 - Google BOLD Internship This paid summer internship is for rising undergraduate seniors who are interested in working full-time at Google. 
  • November 15 – Daniels Fund 2021-22


  • DUE DECEMBER: December 17th - Ford Foundation Fellowships Diverse predoctoral, dissertation, and postdoctoral fellowships will be awarded in a national competition administered by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. 


  • DUE JANUARY: January 15 -Nike N7 2021 Internship Nike N7 is looking for a student passionate about Native American culture & communities for a 2021 summer internship. N7 is a very special team with a specific & powerful mission.
  • January 31st - American Indian Law School Scholarship The application is NOW OPEN for the College Fund's American Indian Law School Scholarship at Harvard University Law School. Learn more about this fully-funded opportunity!


  • DUE FEBRUARY: February 15th - The American Indian Scholarship Apply Here to this one-time $4,000 scholarship that is available to any Native students seeking a college education at the undergraduate or graduate levels.
